InciSe 2025, the annual magazine of the International Student Surgical Network, explores the theme “Surgery Without Borders” — a call for safe, timely, affordable and equitable surgical care that transcends geography, culture, conflict and socioeconomic barriers.

This edition brings together contributions from across the InciSioN network, including National Working Group spotlights, personal reflections, artwork, poetry, scientific articles and opinion pieces. Contributors examine the realities of delivering surgical care in remote communities, conflict-affected settings, refugee populations and resource-constrained health systems, while also exploring innovations in education, telemedicine, artificial intelligence, simulation and surgical technology.

At its core, InciSe 2025 demonstrates that surgery without borders is not defined only by movement between countries. It is built through knowledge sharing, sustainable partnerships, local capacity strengthening, solidarity and a collective commitment to ensuring that no patient is excluded from essential surgical care.
