INCISION ALUMNI HIGHLIGHTS
Over the past year, the Alumni Affairs Team has been focused on updating our alumni database to ensure that team members can easily access former alumni for assistance with future projects. This initiative not only enhances collaboration but also keeps the communication channels between our team and the alumni network open and active.
We also developed a mentorship matching template designed to connect mentees in IT with mentors from both within and outside our group. This comprehensive template includes specific areas where mentees seek guidance, as well as available hours for mentorship sessions. This effort culminated in our publication, "Peer Mentorship to Build Research Capacity Among Members of the International Student Surgical Network (InciSioN): A Proof of Concept Study" (PubMed). Efforts to roll out a mentorship program for InciSion, in collaboration with the education team, is ongoing.
Additionally, we successfully hosted a webinar titled "A Chat with InciSioN Alumni: Early Career Trainees in Global Surgery," which provided valuable insights into the experiences of alumni in various fields.
Looking ahead, we aim to engage our remarkable alumni through workshops and webinars, further strengthening our community. We remain committed to supporting the other InciSioN subteams and welcome collaborations.
