AFFORDABLE
HEALTH CARE.
RIGHT HERE.
RIGHT NOW.
Universal health coverage means timely, quality services without financial hardship. InciSioN works to ensure that the promise of health for all includes essential surgical, obstetric, trauma and anaesthesia care.

REAL ACCESS · REAL FINANCIAL PROTECTION · REAL ACTIONCoverage must include access, quality
and financial protection.
A hospital may exist and still be out of reach. Insurance may cover an operation but not the tests, medicines or transport that make the treatment possible. Universal coverage must work across the full care pathway.
WITHIN REACH
Services must be geographically and practically accessible, including appropriate referral, emergency response and essential surgical care.
ON TIME & SAFE
People need quality care when it is required—not only after avoidable delays. The health workforce, facilities, medicines and continuity of care matter.
FINANCIALLY SAFE
Direct and indirect costs should not force households to postpone treatment, borrow beyond their means or sacrifice necessities.
From promises to progress.
The 2026 theme concludes a three-year UHC Day focus on financial protection: accountability in 2024, lived experience in 2025 and delivery in 2026.

From a global campaign to local action.
InciSioN co-hosted the 2026 UHC Day Youth Capacity-Building Workshop alongside UHC2030, CSEM, IFMSA and IPSF, with IAPO among its supporting partners.
“Becoming a leader for UHC: Building Your Local UHC Movement” translated the #HealthCostsHurt message into practical advocacy. Participants explored local barriers—including medicines, transport, fees and delayed care—and developed approaches for engaging their communities.
A practical three-step pathway
Choose a local UHC issue.
Use your country profile to state: “I want to highlight [issue] affecting [group].”
Find three to five people or groups.
Identify who may care about the issue, what influence they have and how you can reach them.
Make a specific request.
Write a short outreach message explaining the problem and inviting one concrete action.
This is a workshop learning pathway, not a claim that a local advocacy campaign was automatically completed. Explore the health-financing dashboard and CSEM outreach guidance when developing your own evidence-based message.
Continue the conversation: Voices for UHC
Connect with the youth advocacy community, learn about shared activities and stay involved after the workshop. Participation is voluntary and subject to the group’s own community rules.

Behind every health-cost statistic is a decision someone had to make.
Financial hardship may mean postponing necessary treatment, borrowing money, selling assets or choosing between care and essentials such as food, housing or education. The #HealthCostsHurt campaign invites people who want to share their experiences to help make these barriers visible.
- Invite stories, but never pressure anyone to disclose sensitive health or financial details.
- Obtain permission before sharing another person’s story or photograph.
- Connect individual experiences to credible evidence and a concrete policy ask.
Young advocates are essential to health for all.
Local action can take many forms: a community dialogue, a well-supported statement, participation in a consultation or a sustained conversation with a decision-maker. Recognition and learning are important, but they are not substitutes for meaningful involvement.
Learn. Speak up. Mobilise.
The official youth participation page is the source for current challenge requirements and opportunities. Workshop attendance and youth challenge participation are separate activities.
Celebrate UHC champions.
Recognise people improving access and holding leaders accountable. Official UHC Champion recognition is determined by the campaign organizers—not automatically by attending an InciSioN workshop.
Find evidence. Make a clear ask.
Bring others with you.
Effective advocacy goes beyond awareness posts. Choose an issue, identify its consequences, build an alliance, engage someone with decision-making power and follow up.
